RHINO : Supra - Help Please

Hi all, This will turn into a wip, so I'm hoping this is the right place to start.

I've been modeling in Rhino for about 6 months now on and off since late 2003. I've just found out recently that I've been doing things the HARD way!

Most pieces that I've built that have been cars and airplanes were basically modeled with as few pieces as possible using a whole lot of point weights and cross sections.....
So basically i've been sculpting the whole time with isoparm heavy meshes.

Anyways, Now I'm trying to do things the easier and probably more accurate way. I took a look at the Audi tut by Rain Knight and it helped quite a bit. I really like how the car was modeled. The lines pretty much dictated everything, there wasn't too much eyeballing going on.

I'd like to model this Supra that way. I'm just not sure how to setup the curves in the most efficient and accurate way.

I could do cross sections and loft, but thats not the way i want to do this one. Could you Rhino users please help me get started? I just ordered a plastic model to help, but that won't be here for about another week. i'd like to get started on this model ASAP.

Sorry for the long words, I just had to type a little, cause I feel like I'm gonna throw my computer out the window!

When this is all finished, we can put this in the tutorial section.

I was thinking the same thing. I could do it in Maya in a couple of days probably. Those polygons are too easy!

I have, that helps me with most cars, but the round shapes of the supra are giving me a hard time. i just need help with how I should set up the curves to do the sweeps and networks and such.

RHINO : Supra - Help Please

I just got the plastic model in, and that's helping alot, but I'm still having alot of trouble.

here I am so far though. I have to find a way to cut and blend the fender to match what the supra actually looks like.....

This is probably the 3rd version of this car so far. I feel like quiting rhino and going back to polygons, but then again I feel so close to getting down the basic shape. and I hate quiting.

Again, any help here would be greatly appreciated........greatly!

at this rate, I'll still be modeling this next year!

for the fender, build the vertical part first (Loft with the two curves)
then, with a BlendSrf, create the surface between the surface you already got for the fender and this loft one.

good luck.
