Bugatti Veyron (Style Concept)
Galvanized by Rain Knight recent work, i decided to start modeling Bugatti Veyron in rhino.
First cause i like this car, second but not last to test my skills rhino when i'm used to max. So it's my first real try in rhino. U'll notice that the shapes are not exactly the same as real Veyron: it's a kinda of new version... Hope u like, and any critz r welcome. Regards, Ed |

Re: Bugatti Veyron (Style Concept)
i just need to know a thing wich any of you rhino modelers can answer:
in your car, all the diferent surfaces we can see in the wireframes arent conected at all ??? they are just well placed and aligned togheter, to give the impression of a single piece ?? |

Re: Bugatti Veyron (Style Concept)
Looking great.
Glad to see another rhino user in here. Looks like you could build the roof as one surface and maybe the windshield also. Quote:
are you using sweeps or network surfaces? |

Re: Bugatti Veyron (Style Concept)
Mainly sweeps.
![]() As i said at the beginning of this post, it's first time i seriously model a car in rhino, so that i'm experiencing many problems in merging surfaces one to the others to avoid sharp edge profiles. Probably using network surfaces i could avoid to those sharp edges that u can see at 3rd pitcure on each side of the hood. Any suggestion is really appreciated. Bye Ed |

Re: Bugatti Veyron (Style Concept)
Looks pretty good. I think you might need to do some blending around the edges though, especially between the roof and window sides.
Try the pipe, split, and blend method that Rain Knight outlines in his Audi tut. |

Re: Bugatti Veyron (Style Concept)
Well, just alloys, wheels and grills (!!!), interiors (in a 2nd time) missing and it'll be ready for renderings.
Sorry, at the moment there'r no pics, but i've to subject u all a question. I've encountered a "problem" while importing IGES file in max. In first instance, i modeled the frontal grill in rhino and then saved the complete file as .IGES (3DSMAX 5.0 format); then, in max, i launched import command but it took su much time that i hit cancel and stopped the process. How can i speed up this process? Probably i could answer myself: saving grills alone in a dedicated iges file and then importing them separatly from the all the rest car parts by merging objects in max. Is it right? A question for u all (Rain Knight especially): how would u make grills like in 'The Rain Knight B-One Bugatti' ? As u can see in those renderings, grills seem that aren't made by simple countours but they seem built by "surface cutting mask", aren't they? Any help, appreciated. Regards, Ed |

Re: Bugatti Veyron (Style Concept)
Take a look at the Rain Knight renders again. In the clay renders you can see that the grills arent really there. They're just surfaces with a grill texture... Unless he has a grill with all the holes hidden on another layer..
If you want to create the grill with all of its detail you could: Draw the shape of your grill cutout and use the transform/array/along surface After your satisfied with the placement of all the holes, go ahead and split the surface and do any extrusions you would like. I think Im understanding you correctly. Hope that helps Can't help with Iges, I've only just started messing with it a few days ago. |
