Volvo 360

Hi, this is my first WIP car prsented here... But I have been reading this fantastic forum for 1 year now.
Congratulations, it's great! :roll:
Well, last summer I started some cars, (my first 3D attempts ). One of them was this volvo. Now, that I have a lot more of experience with 3D modelling I want to continue this car. But the problem is that I have been working with Zmodeler2 all this time, and I have forgot almost everything about 3Dmax... I will have a lot of doubts, I hope you can help me.
You can see some cars I have made for Richard Burns Rally if you follow the link of my attachment. Look at 206 2003 rims .
I will try to learn 3Dmax again to make realistic cars, like a lot of you. The volvo that I am making will be for GTA:SA if I finish it, of course...

i think you have to many poly rows on the side,, cut some rows to get a cleaner mesh,, for the rest,, looks like a good start

thanks, but how do I do it? From 0 to 10, my knowledge of 3Dmax5 is at the 1... So tell me exactly what to do, please.
I continued the rear part of the car, and it looks weird. How van I fix it? (What tools do I need?)

Go into edge mode, and select the row of edges that should be removed, then press remove on the menu on the right. (may not be right in Max 5, I have 7)

Quite a good start you got there

Only crit is that you got way too much polies. As said cut them down.

But how do you do sharp edges, different normals for different surfaces?

For sharp edges you need to apply smoothing groups. They can be assigned when you're in polymode
