Fiat 8V 1954

Hello all,

This is my latest wip, the Fiat "Ottovu". A small car with a big engine, it was designed in 1952 with the usual long hood/short deck configuration. I chose to model the 1954 restyle which has a more "sedate" front end, the original one being a bit ungainly.
The car looks a bit like a muscled-up XK Type E. The blueprints were sent to me by Krzystof Rzyba (thanks Chris ), and although very detailed they presented the old dilemma: views don't exactly match. So i kept only the top view and used photographs for the other views. So far so good.

I started the bodyshell with a cube, converted it to poly and boxmodeled the basic shape. Then i deleted one half and went on polymodeing.

Progress so far:

Thanks for watching!

Re: Fiat 8V 1954

Thanks folks!

Never seen one myself and strongly doubt if i ever willl. Maybe that's why i am modeling it, 3dmodels make us feel like proprietors of the real thing, or the real thing's scale model at least

Small update with window frames, taillights, much to go.

I've never seen one also. Looks interesting though. I've always liked Fiats design.

Very nice job indeed

Re: Fiat 8V 1954

Thanks rallydriver and mindwarps

But not easy. Have you ever tried to do something and after sweating for months on it give up totally, until a fine day you get back to it and it seems a breeze -- it's the way you start it that will make it easy or difficult.

Other view.

Re: Fiat 8V 1954

Updates. I changed the color and hid the skirts for a racier, meaner look.
