only thing i miss in the "collection" of volvos is a roadster... like bmw z4 or somethin... so i decided to try to design one... it is based on the 2004 v40... here is the first shot of the front... not much to see yet ;-)

Re: volvo r50

i wouldn't call the c70 a roadster... convertible of course, but no roadster, a roadster has only two seats ;-)
more updates follow tomorrow...

Re: volvo r50

after taking a closer look at the actual design-lines of volvo, i was forced to start over again. mine looked like a 90's version ;-)

and so i decided now to make this one yellow in memory of the lovely 850 T5 R in the 90's

:-)

Re: volvo r50

the details are great, but over all it looks like a 850 with a flat S70 nose on it and which had the roof removed and the a pillars moved backwards. It doesn't has the sparkle other roadsters have (BMW Z8, MB SL(K), Ferrari 550 Barchetta, Maserati Spyder). Compare some blueprints of these cars and you will see it.
I have done a quick sketch of how a Volvo nose can look on a roadster. Hope you like it.
Keep it up!

Re: volvo r50

thanks for your comment, signore bugatti ;-)

well, i know it isnt the sexiest car on earth, but i guess with all details (sidelines) on it, it would be nice. i never had the "goal" to make it as sexy as a bmw or a ferrari. i think the philosopies of volvo and the manufactureres you said are way different. so my roadster maybe should be a little "boring" in comparission to a ferrari or a maserati...

;-)

i realy like your sketch! but i want to look the nose like it looks now. because the shape of the grill now is very "volvoish" and i dont want the grill so low to the ground. ;-)

Re: volvo r50

It is getting there, but are the wheels too small or the headlight too big?
Your front line of the door isn't correct. Otherwise no critics.
I do like the rear arches, bit like Volvo's conceptcar.
BTW Did you know the Volvo hotrod concept?

Re: volvo r50

This is the first time that I made some constructive criticism, and actually drew in psp

move the body line out a bit and reshape the back bumper, maybe some small wing (spoiler) on the trunk, volvo style of course. The whole car is too boxy IMO, volvo is finaly trying to round out a rectangel with wheels (no offence FlashG) but itīs not the 80' or 90' with 240, 740, 850, and 940

good luck I really like concepts, and this is what volvo needs
