Desert Eagle

I am VERY new at modeling but am trying to learn and i decided to try to make handgun...

I just learned how to make general cutouts of things by splitting polygons and moving the verts.

C&C welcome but keep in mind i am new to this program and for you to have something for me to fix itd be nice if you could tell me the tool to do it . But with photoshop i learned the best way to learn a program is to start things, post and get help so here i am.

Welcome to the forums. Nice to see new faces around here. Can't really way much about the model. Maybe you could show us a wire. (just press print screen of the perspective window with edged faces selected in the vieport setings.

Cheers,
Oliver.

Re: Desert Eagle

I presume you not going on a very detailed handgun . so you can lower down the polies
and get away with it with a good texture .
very basic model but for somebody that new to the 3d world , I'd say it's look good .
keep going ....

read , understand , wait , make it better

Re: Desert Eagle

i just watched more of the splitting polygons tut video and learned a lot nmore, i think i will start this over and try to apply the new methods. Will also attempt to squeeze in the hour video on extrusionsand hopefully get a better outline and maybe even put in some detail with a lot less polys even though the count is the least of my worries at this stage.
