Day 2 on the 430. Lots of bumps to get rid of.

Re: Ferrari 430

What program?
I use max/ polymodeling. The trick I use is just to do it hardcore!. Pan around and move vertex in perspective. I have another technique, I use relax, a tool in editable poly. Playing around with the selection of vertex and then some value changes in relax parameters. I working quiet nice.
I do quiet dens meshes so the relax technique working well.

Re: Ferrari 430

Less vertices gives you more control, thus ending - when doing correctly - in a smoother result

Re: Ferrari 430

@NightEye, I mean more vertex give more control if you use relax

Re: Ferrari 430

you should also make sure your keeping quads, and makes sure you keep enough polies around tight corners for the smothing to work out since you cant smooth a right angle ( 90degree ) corner very well without strecthing. (so make it round enough in lowpolymode and add meshsmooth or turbo smooth after.

Re: Ferrari 430

Trying to get good render with Vray.
Just can't get the lights, chrome head lights, and glass to look right
I'm using HDRI with vraylights. Any suggestions
The lights are made with a chrome reflector material and glass material with a bump map

Re: Ferrari 430

Thanks, it's starting to get better. Here are some clay renders. The flaws jump right out in clay.

Re: Ferrari 430

Just the piecyness of the shadow there(= reflective surface smoothing I assume), and the smoothness issue there around the taillights were the only detail problems I picked up on*

i think i know what you need to do, make a copy of the tail light that smaller and put it on the insdie with a high reflectivity (chrome) mat, than the bigger one could be used to act as a glass with some reflectivity and very little IR. should help.
