Re: VW Phaeton (First smoothed car)

First of, welcome to the forums. We are a friendly bunch. Feel free to ask if something is bothering you.

At the bottom of the page notice that the edges besides not being sharp enough have a small pinching to them. Meshsmooth hates triangles so try to get rid of them and when you chamfer something make sure you weld the triangles that the chamfer function creates on its own, they make the mesh bumpy. Here let me draw you a pic of what i mean. The double edges are the chamfered ones. Notice how in the corner there's a triangle (maked with red) weld the two vertexes (yellow ) together and you're basically set. This is afcourse the ideal setting but basically it applies to all similar events.

I'll let someone with a better eye (NE i'm talking about you) comment you on the model accuracy.

Cheers,
Oliver.

Clean mesh you've got there, but check that side print, it looks somehow narrow.

lol
Well, the base mesh has got some weird polyplacements (polies close to each other) on the wheelarch and headlight. This makes the car inaccurate to begin with, since those are creating sharp edges
But I won't crit it before you've finished chamfering.. Can't see much now
