My firls car in max... Plz step in :)

Hi, im new so this forum aswell as 3d modeling, im 17 yrs old and started out with 3ds max 6.

I had tryed it about 1 year ago, but i didnt have any patiance and i thought i could model sweet cars like some ppl here....

However i stopped. But now i started again and im gonna learn now and this is my "first" (second but the 1/10 of an 147 GTA doesnt count, and it sucked)
So i decided to medel a Audi TT, BOOOOOOOORING ok i know u guys have seeen alot of them but it is a kinda nice car and its not that complicated.

Well... Here goes, i started modeling the front with detail, not realy done yet, thre are a lot of bad stuff n i need ur C&C. I did some clay renders in Brazil... And tried some color ones . However thats just some experiments.
Well ive talked too much u wont read anyways... So here it is Audi TT polymodeled (everything)
Any tutorials on stuff that would help (cars, tyres, rims, LIGHTS) would be appreciated.

C&C plz

Re: My firls car in max... Plz step in :)

Thx Man, Il check it out on the blue prints and some ref pics... Il try do some more work, however there is a problem...

I have detached different parts and so for different parts of the car.. to make good seem and not tricky extrude ones, cause there are too many vertexes to weld, However how do i on the best way continue on the door? Just make a new plane or copy some of the existing near the door?

Thx in advance

what alot of people do, is select the back edges of the fender where it meets the door, and shift + drag them backwards, then when the doors done or before they start, it dont matter, you chamfer and extrude and stuff

Wow, thats amazing for your first car.. i remember my audi, what an embarresment

by the way, evan though you detached certain parts of the car, you can re-ATTACH them, and I think thats the best thing you should do, re-attach the different parts (except headlights make that all one group, well atleast when you have other peices to group up)

to do this select one peice, lets say the hood then hit the small box button beside attach, (its in the column with all the buttons :-P), then select the peices you'd like to attach like fender, bumper, ect..

good luck, hopefully you finish it unlike me

Re: My firls car in max... Plz step in :)

Thx guys, well i fixed that issue... I just cloned the polys and detached them and modeled on with the door. Its a bit wrong (not round at the top.. gotta fix that.. The tricky part was the lower bit under the door, im definetly no pro so i gave it a try.. i think it turned out ok...

Just a quick render, its realy bad but it gives u a view of the situation, will get more work done tomorow..

Never mind that flat uggly wheels... i failed
