Re: 1979 RC Baja Bug
Nice start,
I think the reason to the weird rear tire is cause the track on the tire looks like it is diffrent objects, I think. When its textured i dont thinkt that its going to be a problem. And, Great details on the engine. ![]()

Re: 1979 RC Baja Bug
Thanks for kind words everybody, just a small update I've started the 'proper' rims and this time built them REDSTAR style and I must say its worked great for me. These rims are in 3 pieces and this is the centre part.
@ pwbull09 : Great to hear you still have them I've owned about 7 in my time but just got a couple left, you can see em here http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom.asp?id=911 |

Hi all
I'm still alive, just really busy at work & another baby on the way :-). I finally got that rear wheel rebuilt and textured, and built the lid to the radio box, also got a battery done and currently working on replacing nasty old gearbox built from objects in a very crude way quite some time ago. The front end is also old and in need of replacement but makes a good guide for the new stuff, radio gear also under construction. If Images too big LMK & I'll shrink em down, just a bit busy right now. Cheers. |

Thanks all for your encouragment & compliments
@ ColdFlame, I see what you mean, I may reduce the bump map arround the letters a bit. The real tyre is only about 7cm in diameter so its quite a large looking moulding on that too. I must point out if it was'nt for the amazing work of tomsullivan & garethgeezer I would'nt have bothered with so much chassis detail, inspiring stuff guys! nowhere near as much detail on this thing though. Hope to get some updates up tonight. |

A bit later than advertised, got steering and speed controller servos done and started with gearbox internals. All gears mesh properly with corect number of teeth (that took alot more time than I expected).
Any body got any tips on creating twisted wires? Last edited by scorchi : 06-07-2006 at 08:06 AM. |
