Toyota Toyopet SA 1947

Hello all
Meet my latest project.
(Thanks SMCars for the blueprints)

A bit of Lincoln Zephir, a bit og VW Beetle, a bit of Lancia Aprilia (the split backlight), a very peculiar Japanese design.
Exterior almost complete. Forgive the headlight texture, to be replaced.

Thanks for watching!

Re: Toyota Toyopet SA 1947

Thanks for the replies guys!

-monster- and FlashG
They mixed and came up with a unique design. There are several interesting Japanese designs in the link provided in the Nissan Blueprint section ("Lots of old Nissans" it's called). There's a bit of everything, really pleasant browsing. I may model more curious examples displayed there (if i can find accessory photographic references of course).

i will tone down the reflectiveness on the windows, thanks for the crit.

Auto!...klidek
Thanks man.

Funny you mention the Javelin. I got the same comment in another forum. Maybe due to its puggish design.
But the sloping rear sidewindow is purely Japanese i guess.

Hope to post updates next week!

Re: Toyota Toyopet SA 1947

I think the sloping back side window looks exactly the same as bugatti type 57's side window, so not really japanese design there either?

Awesome model. I have a question for you too. How many of these old cars have you modeled? I mean i see one pop up every now and then. I'd figure you're at about 30 cars total?

Re: Toyota Toyopet SA 1947

Granted, not purely Japanese -- not even the sloping windows -- but definitely pure Japanese mélange.
Updates, i could not yet make out what goes in the hubcap center, so will leave it blank for the moment.
I think i have done about 27 models, but there is one still to be completed (the Ford 40).

And the wire:

I think you've overdone the 'carweight' on the tires
Other than that, it once again rocks!

Re: Toyota Toyopet SA 1947

Your choice of cars is realy great. I like these ones! Do you model cars that were made before WW2 too?

"Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere." Colin Chapman (founder of Lotus car company)
"I dont put my helmet on for something that needs more than 8 minutes around the Nürburgring." Walter Röhrl (German Rally Driver)

Re: Toyota Toyopet SA 1947

You are right guys!

Not all cars are so heavy that they will need tires to be flattened and bulged on the bottom... I tweaked them and updated the above images.
@kosso_olli
I like preWWII cars too Did a Buick 37 and plan more.
