Mazda Miata (Max 7)

Ok, I pretty much suck at this modelling game, I keep picking it up and putting it down. I'm determined to get a decent and reasonably accurate model finished and rendered. I at least want it to put a smile on my face and satisfy me. I thought I'd make a topic too, so I can share my progress and modelling issues.

Hope you like this initial progress so far, and any help on the chamfers meeting on the wheel arch would be great!

Re: Mazda Miaza (Max 7)

ok it looks like u need to collapse all the points along the pale blue line...collapse the green ones together and extentd the maroon one along to the outer arch as shown in the pic... hope that helps..
if u want the sharpness to the arch line just add another cut at either side of the arch top line.. it would neaten the model up.

Re: Mazda Miaza (Max 7)

Thanks for the help Ronaro, worked a treat!

Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated. It was late when I posted, lol at my title mistake.

Anyway, yeah the Miata is the Eastern name and the MX-5 is the European name and I think the US gets a mix of imported names. It's MX-5 in the UK. My neighbour has the full spec model of one of these with all the extras. I think it looks like a rollerskate with those 17" wheels!

I have made a bit of progress and I have overcome my own issues on it by myself so far. I'm really enjoying this model and I'm quite excitied about getting to a finished stage. The back end of this is quite complicated and the prints don't line up too well at this point so I'm going to take a break and have a crack at a detailed wheel.

Here's the progress so far:

Re: Mazda Miata (Max 7)

Not an easy rear to work on, still some bugs to work out but its my best effort so far. Clean got dirty round the rear.
Progress:
