My demo reel work

the stuff posted to this thread is going into my demo reel, and not neccessarily a part of Motor City, the Toy Car Movie Project. The vehicles in this thread don't have much possibility of being used, but the environments should hold through. They will be posted here though, as for now, they are unrelated projects.

My first WIP for my demo reel : a 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera.

I wish I still had that list of vehicles I was considering modeling for this project, but alas, recent forum changes made that dissappear. no way am I typing all that over again

awesome... I can post without lag now... thanks. (testing it out... hopefully it'll work)

thanks for the comments btw. I know the model(s) aren't (won't be) outstandingly accurate, but for something that just shows onscreen for a couple seconds, don't want to put too much effort into them

well, upon creating the the "extra-low poly car contest" with a seemingly rediculously low face count requirement to just about all the modelers here, I figure, why not post the stuff I'm doing for my demo reel for inspiration. (which is where I came up with the requirements)

Why not a Mazda Miata. That thing's got curves all over the place. ...

... well, here's mine at 1,528 faces, tires and all. Ironically, it's the the 2nd-most complex interior I've completed to date... :-\ most of the vehicles I've built have such simple dashboards they could bring a person to tears... heck, even gta sa I believe has more complicated interiors than I was using for a long while. But hey, that's why I'm updating my demo reel, to show that I'm trying to keep up with demands

I also think this will be the last convertible I do... rather, it will be the last vehicle where you can see much of anything inside. I don't really have the time to texture these suckers' interiors at the level this one will be.

so anyway, here's the mess of miatas. I forsee much consulting of my scale model of this thing a lot while texturing the interior...

alright, here is the textured version of the miata... I know there's some innaccuracies here and there... like I'm not 100% sure the position of the convertible top stuff to the doorlines, and there's a line missing on the rear trunk... but again, I'm doing these vehicles for filler, they're not supposed to be the main focus or anything. There's only two vehicles going into my demo reel that will be on screen for more than 4 seconds... So I think if I were to spend any more time on these textures it would be time not very well-spent... so anyway, here's a quick render of the thing for y'all

btw, the textures are either .png (8-bit) or .gif, depending on what was a smaller file size... so you're looking at 16-color wheels, and 256-color car body stuff
