Thanks for the comments guys! I really appreciate them. I have finished the overall body and did some detailing. It's time for more detailing and then the same ol same ol, mock interior, wheels and all. The roof of the skyline was a pain in the ass because I was trying to make it out of single surfaces instead of jointed surfaces. The skyline has too much detail almost, sculpted and molded everywhere. I have gained a new appreciation for it though as I'm modelling it. C&C please.
Not my model, but the real car, I think the details on the skyline are great but the form still needs some refining. But of course that's what the GTR concept was about, it's gettin closer to a more elegant form but still retaining the skyline iconic look. |

Thanks for the comments and critique guys!
I should have posted clays in the first place instead of these quick gradient renders. I haven't been doing that since the NSX and I guess it cause of the pace I'm going. I've corrected somethings around the front and side that were mention. So here are some clays and Rhino wire so you can point out some of the inaccuracies. Like I said before though, it's a matter of balance and compromise with these models. I probably spent roughly ~ 10 or less hours modelling this GTR if you haven't noticed from the rate I've been posting. Probably half of that time was on the details as they are tedious. I could spend countless hours to get that unerring accuracy, but this not what I'm going for for this project. I'm going for a convincing model (~92-98% acc) in short period of time so that in the future, I can use this skill when needed. I also find that the slower pace I take the less interested I become in the model or anything I create. These are just some rules and principles I try to set so that I can push myself. This is so if I wanted to I could make multiple iterations for things needed like sketching the a car three different times. So I will try my best to correct the errors if they are major, but if they are minor and require more work then for the result/difference then I will probably leave it alone. So C&C please! Cyberdemon: Thanks for the comments man. We can talk more about the car club thing in studio. Next time you see me, just give me a shout. |

Thanks man. I know, I'm dying to do some kind of half decent animation. The real life race track sounds out of my league though. I'm in the process of planning the storyboard right now and then learning how to do it.
Just some larger renders of the updated "Dynasty". Who knows, I'm thinking of adding more cars to it... to distract myself from the animation. I did run a soft filter in a paint program as I prematurely ended the renders as they were taking a long time. C&C? |

Thanks for the comments guys!
Nighteye: Yea I wish I had a more detailled HDRI, but then again I don't because it would zap my RAM. The reflections bothered me too. I think though it's the angle and position of the cars that make the reflections weird. I uploaded a diagram showing my layout, so I think that's why. Either that or Lightwave is acting screwy. |
