Just type my.is in your internet browser, it's a forum for IS owners

or I can help take some ref pics from my car if you need any specific photos.

doin clay renders, my renders look so bad it isnt even funny, the rims are chrome but they show up gray all over, no where to even tell that their chrome cause they dont reflect anything but gray, and they dont shine either

edit, also im thinking of either blue for the top color, and white for the bottom, or silver for the stripe, purple on top and black on bottom, or black on top and purple on bottom, doesnt matter really. if anyone has some color combos just post them and if i like it enough ill do it

Hey man, looking good. Nice touch to have the side windows open too.
Is this one having air-suspension? (not much tyre clearance otherwise!)
I think split-colour combos look best with the darker colour on top. Having the dark colour at the bottom gives the impression of the car looking taller. Maybe try pure black on top, silver at the bottom, with a purple stripe?
Anyway, good stuff so far

I like your renders, don't think they're bad

lmao thanks, ive changed a few settings and they look alot better(irradiance map settings) also i made the tires/rims smaller, usually my cars do have air suspension, but this one doesnt (reason for eibach logo on the hood), im doing a slide out tray in the rear bumper right now. i also changed the colors to the car. there will be alot of changes going on now. the bumper is a buddy club kit from a civic (almost the same as an IS, the ones with the tail lights shaped the same). i figured alot of people put kits from different vehicles on their car, so it should be able to pass for the RI contest, because its a real bodykit for alot of cars

ight heres the 1 1/2 hour render on my crappy PC, the amp is an alpine amp and its for the mids/tweeters/speakers, it goes through a distribution block that will be in where the back seat is suppose to be along with some more amps.

i was talking to redstar earlier and he brought something to my attention, my car looks kinda cartoonish, i actually agree with him on that, but i followed pictures and everything to get this far, what else looks like its not like the real one? (besides the headlights lol)

yeah they dont look too good on the car, i think its cause their deep dish, so im going to reduce the lip size on them and see how they turn out. i havnt rendered and am not going to anymore on this computer. my new one will be here in 3-4 days and put together whenever i get all the parts, (their going to be here the same day as each other, but their in different shipments) so there wont really be any problem rendering on that one. ill post an update then when i transfer everything over

you know i guess that valve is some detail about 99% of the people don't see or just don't model. i never thought about that tho on any other car. good for pointing it out

excellent job on the wheel

Most people intend to forget it indeed, but there are also a lot of models who do have them

The rim looks great, but I still don't think it fits an IS. Oh, and don't forget a cap on the valve, else dirt will get into it
