Heavy class assault bomber concept
Well, I got a little tired of my chopper model, so I was just playing around with polys...a circle became a tube, a tube became longer, added some propellers and before you know it, I got myself a jet engine!
And then I thought, what the heck, lets not let this go to waste, and I decided to model a bomber. Heavy class too, cause I always had a "thing" for military vehicles. And since I like them big and powerfull, I'm gonna model one. Now, this is just something to do when I'm clearing my head off from my chopper model, this comes second, but I have a feeling it'll get pretty detailed, so here it is, a start: |

I have a problem! What the heck is this?! I'm modelling the cockpit, made a sphfere and used "uniform scale" to make it longer, and now all the normals are facing forwards! They're not coming out of the faces on 90 degree angle.CAN i FIX THIS?? Cause, when I try to extrude a polygon, it extrudes in the direction of the normal, not straight up and thats...BAD!

i dont really know if this solves your problem. I think its just what i would look at first. Cause i get that problem accidentally sometime. But if you selected an object and etruded an edge or a face but didnt pull it out away from the other polygon than your polygons will share the same area. In this case it looks like you extruded edges and so now you have 2 or more edges sitting directly ontop of eachother. Switch to view faces, and see if you can see a face that doesnt seem to have any area. Also, what program are you using? i can show you an expample with maya: view the thumbnail. The normals that fall in the center of The polygon are OK the normals that extend from edges are not manifold. and you can simply delete those faces. Haha, i hope someone else comes along with a suggestion, cause i'd hate to be leading you down the wrong path if this is all software specific. ![]() Hi |
