Tyre help

hey im trying to get a nice scene going on with my car but for the tyre mat im using it dosnt work well wirthm y brazil settings and i have to add lights to bring it up otherwise its just pitch black but if i add lights my car looks like crap its overbright

can you give me a help with the setup or a new rubber mat

these renders are with a brazil setup but with a light looks quite nice but i want thsi **** on my car

when i used brazil, i used a standard material with a specular of 40 for my truck tires

standard mat with multy layer shader is the key for good tire mat

As an easy fix you could make your light exclude everything in the scene except the tyres. Click the exclude button in the lights parameters rollout.

well..and how about not doing the tyres really black .. in the real, they are not black at all so I would recommend to make it more bright, and then maybe add a little bit fall-off in the diffusion map slot

a lot of work can be as well achieved with bump maps and specular maps

but I think your problem is that you have it too much black.

here is the wheel I did for my Cadillac CTS-V

I also think, that if you`re not doing a big render of the wheel alone.. you don`t have to pay that much attention on the wheel
