low poly rx8 for animation

hey guys im still pretty new to 3d. ive been using maya and this is my rx8.
im still not sure if im gonna leave the front bumper sub-d. because render times are pretty important. i have fixed it up in polygons and its looking alright. what i really need help on is texturing. so if anyone knows how to do car paint in maya or mental ray for maya, please help me out. thank you

looks really good, but if u want the car in a game the whole model will have to be polies cos nurbs 'ill probs be to high polied and will take to long to render also, can we plz see a clay and wire render

its not for a game its for animation and the time we have is quite tight... so by the time we get it animated, we wont have too much time for rendering.
but i would still like help with the car paint material please. heres some screen shots and i dont know how to do a clay render but this is it with a lambert material on it. oh and ill probably change the seat to lower poly ones.

yea i probably could loose a few. its coming up to 9000 which is pretty high i guess (for low poly) heres a wheel by the way tell me what you think of them. i think they need a bit more work

hahha lol, ive been looking at your low poly modelling in the forums and you take low poly modelling the extreme! my version of low poly is gonna be under 15,000. nothing compared to how low yours is.

by the way.... who uses maya? and knows how to render a car really well? the help would be apreciated.

if you interested as to how the car is going to be animated look at this. i know its been done before.... so dont tell me that

i just love the car robots, and i also wonder, how do ppl do this kind animation, it must be very hard to animate every single part of the car
