and revelli >> my ext render will have the reflection turned up a bit, but I'm trying to play with mental ray to overly blur the reflections, since you really shouldnt see what the tire is reflecting. |

you need a cylinder, then displace modifier and on top of them meshsmooth modifier
in material editor, select your tire material go to maps and put your treat texture there then map treat on your cylinder with displace modifier, you have there all settings that you will find also in uvw map mod. but try not to use big strength value for the first time, or your max will crash ![]() |
