Glass Test:

OK, so my materials definitely need work.

Steering Wheel:

Rear of Car Interior:

10" Sub closeup:

Don't mind the hodge podge material job on the interior, I just set different IDs to show where the trim/part is made of something different ie suede, leather etc...

Can anyone point me to some suede and leather materials? I've never actually done proper texture work before so I'm trying to learn, and I definitely don't want an all carbon-fibre interior (in fact none in there would be best imo)

Four weeks, wow.

I have been working on the car, but since mine is a night job now, not as much as I'd like

1) The primary gauge faces.
L-R: Tacho, Boost (in atmospheres), speedo, fuel, water temp. Oil temp, oil pressure and fuel pressure will be on flush pods somewhere in the cockpit. Its a bit of overkill, but I like my gauges

2) Driver's viewpoint. Wow. I didn't realise I was making a left hand drive until I looked at this!
The LCD on the right will be like the ones you find on the R-34 GT-R. G-force, timing and ignition advance, battery voltage etc etc. Tertiary gauges.

3) Shot of the centre console. Handbrake not yet modelled.

4) Closeup of the control panel.
LHS, L-R: key, starter,
Traction Control Threshold, Traction Control Aggressiveness,
Swaybar Stiffness, Damper Stiffness, Spring Stiffness (ride height)
RHS: Aircon controls

5) Headunit. Actually a blatant copy of my own Sony Xplod. But its not a final so it should change in appearance.

Next four weeks, I'll probably have the interior layout finished and start desterilising it by adding seams and proper textures. Stay Tuned

WOW, this is an amazing concept. Only thing that i would say that IMO u should change is the two front intakes that you have convered up, i liked them better when they were open and without a cap in them

I'll try them with grilles on. I was messing around with a brake duct before I put the cover on, and it didn't really look right (easy way out I guess).

Anyway some test renders to keep me interested. The second one is with a skylight and final gather, but the car still looks a bit plasticy. (and the sky light has flooded out the barrier texture.

(Ground texture thanks to Ratus925... except shrunk because it was crashing my 3ds )

I figure I can still work on the car and get my other stuff done if most of the time is spent rendering. Anyway I tweaked the paint materials until I was happy with the way it reflected. Getting weird artefacts on the glass though, can't figure out if its a clipping issue or something else.

EDIT: Added closeups of the weird raytrace... the first one is with the sill around the window set to not reflect, the second one is standard.
