volvo S40

Home terribly sick from work today, decided to spend my time modeling. Hopefully this will be the first car I finish, but I've said that about the last two.

Crits and help please!

Looks like a great smooth start but you might want to get rid of the triangle on the fender

Very nice pick on the car and very well so far!! Are you going to put it in any game when you finish it? All car games lack so much good Volvo models, only SA recently had a couple of nice ones.
Keep the good work!!

No this car isn't going into a game. Hopefully within the next month I'll be trading in my car for one of these, so its my current obsession. Also, when (if) i finish the stock model I wanna do some tuning to it, would be cool if I have the motivation.

Havn't done anything since the last post, but since its raining today and my girlfriend is gone all day I should get a good chunk done today

edit: did a little bit of detail and fixed a pinch around the headlight

your hood lines are not sharp enough, they look smoothed out (the seems)

Took some time to start on the rim

good start on the rim, but the area around the screw holes is really inaccurate and bumpy. you can see that half of the screw space, actually makes an edge right there. (duh really hard to explain, i hope you now what i mean  )

work on the rim, I think this is probably the best rim I've modeled yet. just needs work on the materials and then bolts and center cap

sorry moebius i didnt get what you were talking about. which holes, the ones on the outside of the rim or th elug nut holes? I'll make a bigger render of the area youre talking about, thanks!

as for materials, yea i just took that mat out of the cg-talk MR library, I havn't even thought about material work yet. just used that one for the render.

busy weekend coming up but with the girlfriend going out of town next week I should be able to get a lot of work done
