That looks absolutly wicked! My only suggestion(I know you said work in progress, but I want to point this out) is move the alternator father away from the head, it looks like its attached to the head. It should be at the bottom, but make it attached at the top by brakets coming from the water pump. Plus, the motor details aren't totally realistic, but close. Other than that, it looks awesome. Frame is just like a one-off custom rod frame. I guess this will be for rendering only
he he...What's the poly count so far, by the way? ...just out of curiosity... |

The materials may not be right in the "real" rod sence, but maybie in the "Chip Foose" rod style. Like the engine and trans look painted and chromed(a lot of work, for a true professional result...Chip Foose Style!). Maybie make the heads and intake a more satin(poleshed) or near flat(ordinary) silver for an aluminum effect, and change the color of the engine to the proper type for the final rod(if it's a ford, it'll be fine in blue...but Chevy should be orange, for example...or others for different manufacturers...). As for the details....depends on make and model. Even the alternator braket may change(sorry....). Also, the fuel pump would be on the opposite side in Chevy or Dodge(not sure about Ford...). The good news is I can identify all the important parts of the engine(except for the starter), that is some fine detail. Just model in the starter and your exhaust(headers or manifolds....I would go with headers for a rod...) and it will look pretty good, as long as you are not too worried about making the fine detail recognizable for the make and model.
