Can we see a wire. This looks ike sub-D and if your using subD creases, my only comment is to learn how to model by beveling your lines to get sharper edges instead of subD creases because if you do a sub_D crease, you have to do an adaptive convert subD to poly and once you do that, you can not re-edit what youve done. I made that mistake when i first started with maya and man it stunk once i seen the car i modeled in person. I realized i made some mistakes and i wanted to fix but was unable because the adaptive convert adds wayyyyyyyyy too many polys. If your not doing it that way though this is an AWSOME model

not quite
you need to fix the faux inlets below the turn signals; they are quite messy messy other than that, on the very bottom part of the front bumper area, the trim on it looks kinda bumpy on the topside of it other than that, it looks top notch ![]() Team STi "uh oh, yep i'm flyin through the air, this is not good" |

Yuppers. I've already converted to polys in MAYA but have all the stepps saved so i can go back and tweak as long as I choose. Took a little more time with this than the instructor did. No offence to him as he's strapped for time in the tutorial, but it looks horrible. I'll be adding allot of detail. Possibly doing the interior and engine as well. Thanks for the crit guy's!

Yea thats whats stinks about the adaptive subd to poly. if you bevel your edges its similar to the chamfer with max, then when you do a poly smooth, you can set your divisions to 0 then you will be at its original leve before you smooth yet if you set it to 3, it will look as good as the adaptive convert. Good thing you kept the originals, I can never keep originals lol

i dont think you get what im trying to say
the fake inlet things that are pushed inward on your model dont have hard enough edges http://imagesmitsubishi1.free.fr/ima..._eclipse_1.jpg ![]() Team STi "uh oh, yep i'm flyin through the air, this is not good" |

Yup, I know what you're talking about. Those are the parts I re did. If you compare my first picture and the second. Moved them, put in more geometry to smooth out the transitions, and hrdened the edges another notch. If I do it one more time they are way to hard and don't match close up refference images I have. Thanks for the crit. You gouy's have tallent here, and you work quick. How many of you have jobs in the industry?
More updates to come, hopefully more cit as well. Thanks everyone. |
