Hi Tigga,
Really Nice work. And really nice textures. For the Cosworth Versions: In fact there are two of them. First there was a 2.3l which came out almost immediatley after the original Limousine, the one without the encased flanks. Then there was the more or less famous model upgrade where the standard cars got their casings and the tiny 1.8l engine. The Cosworth instead got a slightly bigger engine with 2.5l. The Evos were drived fromt that version and had in fact almost the same 2.5l Engine but a bit tuned. First there was the Evo1 which had, compard to the original cosworth, the stronger engine, a bigger wing and i think larger wheels and was only available ind midnightblack. Then came the Evo2 ehich not only had an even bigger Wing, but also an even stronger engine and the famous bodykit with wider fenders. It also had those quite large 6-spoke alloy Wheels which also could be seen later on the final edition of the E500. This bodykit and those wheels were break with mercedes conservative traditions, even the engine had a designed cover with "2.5l-16v" on it. Until then this was unimaginalbe at Mercedes. Btw. The one you have in your signature seems to be one of the Avantgarde models. This was a set of three special editions each with a limitation of 1.000pcs I think. There was the blue one, a 2.5l Diesel - I think, which had those colorful leatherseats, shown on one photo her in this thread. Then there was a red and a green one, both with petrol engines, but i can't remember there sizes or what they had as special. This was Mercedes' first try to look younger and this was also the first time they used Mica-Colors. Those three were the first cars i know to have a somewhat pearl-effect lacquer. Looks like you're getting there
![]() Some tips: go for 3D headlights (taillights are ok with a texture now). Some really simple ones will look a lot better than these (flares can be put in a better place also) + they will look better when damaged. Make some stuff detachable (mirrors, bumpers?). The more stuff that flies off in crashes, the cooler a car looks. go for darker windows to hide your non-existant interior, or turn your interior into something more than what it is now ![]() It looks liek your underbody isn't finished, be sure not to neglect that. even a simple textured underside can look good fliped over. When it has 3d exhausts and axles it looks even better. Somethin strange about your exhaust. Also, the car looks small compared to the wheels it is on (those are stock 13" right ?), maybe scale it up a bit ?) And finally, don't go too easy on the damage textures. That's an area too many Crashday car makers neglect in my opinion. I'll hit you up with some tips & Photoshop brushes if you want ![]() |
