Renaul Gordini 1964

Hello all!

This car was made in Brazil by Willys Overland. When Ford bought Willys Brazil in 1969 they took over the project of a new Renault and renamed it Corcel. It was more squarish but used the same powerplant and drivetrain. The Corcel eventually grew to a mid-sized car but the powerplant was the same little original. It was even used on the Ford Escort until replaced by the Zetec engine.

Anyways here's the wip:

C&c most welcome as usual. Thanks for watching!

Holy that looks awesome, is it rear engined?
I see that you've even made the tyres a bit flat
For your next car I'll like to see a Porsche 901

Looks good.. One thing though.
Looks like there's a bump on that lower crease on the front door.

I can circle it if you don't know what I'm talkin about.. Just too lazy to open Photoshop right now. lol

very nice model, you even got the tyres deformed from the weight, hardly anyone on this forum does that

Thanks people,

Rear-engined for sure, and the tires of my models must always flatten/bulge (=
As for the Porsche... First i must do a ferrari!

I have been busy with other projects but here's some progress after the mesh was tweaked following your crits.

That looks better than the real thing man There seems to be some bumps in the mesh, but they don't seem to be a problem in the render.

Now how about a rusted/abandoned version?

that would be really nice

palat your work is outstanding as always. only thing i can see is on the trim on the side of the car where the front door meets the rear one. it seems like that area isn't too clean.

how about a blue color?

The tires are a bit light, but other than that it looks - as usual - really good

IMHO

Car = Pig ugly, unusual for me as I usually go for this kind of classic.
Model = GORGEOUS! as usual

Thanks again guys, and sorry for the late response. I have been busy here with little time to dedicate to the oldtimers (doing a lot of 3d so can't complain!).
I tried to fix most of the mesh errors, enlarged the headlights, corrected the windscreen and backlight a bit more, added the usual basic seat+dashboard setup and updated the images. Originally intended to be off-white, the red renders will do for the moment.

Thanks man!

No rust. All my models are pristine... Besides i would have to remove some chrome parts, add dents, lopside it, etc. Just not in the mood, if ever

Silent][Moebius
Blue can be considered, but this car looked more handsome in dark grey blue than chalk blue.

NightEye
The tires are really that narrow, if that's what you mean.

scorchi
Believe me this car looked so much nicer compared to the Brazilian competitors, i.e. DKW and Beetle. Nowadays of course it is typical French mid50s' ugliness...

Thank you all for the support and hope to show new stuff when possible.

Gordini

The name Gordini is correct to brasilian Renault. This car has the same base of the Dauphine, but in Brasil was sold as Willys Gordini. Late Gordini III cars have front disk brakes and 1093cc motor.
