Well, in my view of it. I think when people buy tutorials or use them, they have the goal of learning a new program or technique. So its like almost no relevance to me, how close it is to the real world object. Now the thing a tutorial should do is teach, and in order to teach, it should be comprehensive enough to know what's going on. If the model is two detailed or two complex, how comprehensive is that to the beginning user? The user should then go into finishing or not finishing the tutorial, just as long as they learn the tools on the way. The goal of the tutorial is not to get the user to make the same exact piece as the creator did. You might as well sell him your model and just skip the whole tutorial part if that's the goal.
What I am saying is, the beautiful thing about 3d modelering is we have our own ways to make models. There's no tutorial out there that shows how to make these thousands of cars that we've made. We learn technique from each other, but none of us should have the same exact models, not even close, in mesh that is. So I don't think bashing on the errors of a model in a tutorial is relevant. The price and the goal of the tutorial is the real question that RS should be addressing. Obviously though, if the tutorial has major errors, then it would look unprofessional.
Anyways, I really like the car paint, but the scene looks a lil weird. The wall and floor don't seem to blend in perfectly and if this is the streets the car should reflect something on the street too. I think the lighting may be whats making the sidewalls look bad. But I think the model looks pretty good, it has some bumps that are notorious in poly modeling, but I'm sure RS is working it out.
