Highpoly Nissan 350z

Here is my first attemp at a good high poly vehicle, i am used to making only low poly so this i find is quite a challenge to learn new modeling skills, i am using maya7, and here is my work so far, i am very slow atm but i'm trying to get it right the first couple of tries. any one with some good maya tips for high poly work would be greatly appreciated...thanks all

Ok thanks. . . If you want this to be a High-Poly model as in looking good model then you aren't reaching it for some reason which is probably due to your wires and your lack of sharp edges or if you mean High-Poly as in many poly scattered all over then you may get there but this is the early stage so keep it up.

The problem is that i do not know how to get a sharp edge with mesh smooth, i only know how to odify the normals to appear as a hard edge

in maya, instead of using chamfer, use bevel. what is you email adress. I can send you my tool commands so that you'll have all the shortcuts you need. one thing that helped me since I'm a maya user is setting up my own shortcut box with all the tools. basically to get you edges, you would have to seperate them a bit, extrude them inwards, and then go back to the edges and bevel them(which is like chamfering in max). if I was you, I would practice beveling on a box until you understand how it works and lean how to make the edges nice and smooth. that will really help a lot anyways ur model is looking good and if you google search nissan 350* tutorial maya, there's a guy who made a real nice high poly 350z and he models the whole exterior. anyways keep it up
