I've got that checked after two years of using Photoshop prior to 3D modelling, but this book i got recently still is very usefull: http://www.amazon.co.uk/3D-Game-Text...e=UTF8&s=books Definite recommend, especially for you, who keeps telling us you can't do textures! Time to do something about it, right ? |

No mate i can do that look ill show you what i can do.
I create this map using texporter then all i have to do is draw in my textures then when i drag it over to my model it fit perfectly on because the uvw map is already applied. This is just applying a planar uvw map on the top of the garage obviously i will do it on each side and just apply it all in the same map.So its pretty easy to work with. Its just time consuming making textures for the roof andf making them look nice.As you can see here i already created a garage roof map by using the texture i supplied obviously it was just a really quickly done job i was just testing out its function because ive never used texporter much. Sounds like you just use the "easy", limited modifiers for UV's. Try using "UVW Unwrap", hit "Edit" under the modifier's details and there you can edit your UVW mapping into details. That way you have most control, and it's also the only way to get good results for lowpoly cars (and buildings to an extent).
Also, I think you really do need Photoshop help if you can't see how to do a simple texture like mr.mean's No offence, but that's just really basic Photoshop stuff ![]() |
