Ford Shelby GT500e "Eleanor"

Hi@all
Pretty new on this forum, thus i don't know what's not to do; hope you tell me gently if i don't
You would surely excuse my english, as i'm not from any english speaking country.

Let me introduce my last work in progress: a Ford Shelby GT500 E ("e" for Eleanor, if you were asking). This one catch my attention as "Gone in 60 seconds" was playing on Tv that night... Couldn't let her go without me

I use 3dsmax for both modeling & render (with default scanline) so far. However, I'm planning on rendering with mental ray, or Vray.
Unfortunately I couldn't find any goodlooking blueprint anywhere on the net for this chick; just gathered about 50Mbytes of reference pictures, and went on it

All C&C Welcome

Nb: the rim of the Eleanor is thought to be a kind of "remake" of the old GT-40 rim. Just grabbed a few refs about the old one, which looked prettier to me (not final version of it, still tweaking things around)
The tyre is a Goodyear F1 (home made bump+spec maps too)

I'm currently working on the roof, the front glass and front armatures; sort of difficult by just looking at references, but it will do the trick. Next step after final verifications at overall proportions will be the "cutting" of elements (doors, rear case door, rear bumper, and so on...). Final will be adding all features like mirrors, exhaust tips, ID board, logos, headlights, rearlights, etc etc)

Just joinded a Gif i made for a friend who wanted to know how to begin it. Don't know which method you people are using; for myself i just begin with a 1x1 editable poly plan; then just extruding edges.

Thanks for the warmly welcome
Was just wondering how to update things when needed? May I "newpost" with required attachement or is there a mean to edit it and post a simply "bump"

Edit: About accuracy, i know references are pretty difficult to find (just wandered a whole day to find mine), here are two simple views of the beauty

smaxx,

Beautiful, i love Eleanor, like you i am new to this site. I dont have 3ds max. I do have Hexagon 2.1 ( if there are any hex users out there) at the mo trying to model a BMW Z4.

But i do love your Shelby great work

welcome to the forum! nice work you posted.

if you have updates don't edit your first post just add the new pics in a new post

i like that gif you made, shows nicely how you made the whole thing.

now for some c&c on your model

i have the overall impression that your car is too wide. i guess that also makes the front grille/air intake look too big, whereas the headlights look smaller than they should be.

it would be great if you could make bigger renders, like 1024*786 and better jpeg quality. because the bad image quality lets the car down

I know this car very well, so maybe I can help a bit with accuracy too .
The front looks wrong to me, not the parts but the proportions between them. The upper grille is supposed to be bigger and more "over" the bumper, leaning a bit forward. That might be the problem why silent_moebius considered the lights too small (which is correct), cause if you stretch it more forward the room for the lights will get bigger aswell.
I hope you know what I mean .
