Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversario

Hi everybody !

This week I start hard and long route - I'll re-making Lamborghini Countach model from scratch. Previous one I made in NURBS was very inaccurate and inefficient, so there's no way to fix it in better way than re-making

I'll post more info and some pics later this week.

Cheers!

Xer0123 is right. You should have waited. Next time if you'll do a thread, please show some progress. Although I would love to see yours on this one

I'm sorry if I violated rules of this board :-(

Anyway, here are my first screens:
http://krom.rscsites.org/images/stor...ach_wip_01.jpg

I'm modelling the car as close to original as possible. Thus there are no sharp edges, only smoothed ones with some nice normals.

My aim is WorldRacing2 game, thus I need to keep polycount reasonable (1-20k). Right now I use n-gons, but later on I will need to convert everythin to triangles.

Here's how old version did looked:

P.S. I'm not skilled in writing, so feel free to point me with questions :-)

I hope it goes nice and smooth with re-make :-)

As for old version - it has wrong proportions, it's all boxy (well, more boxy than original Countach if that's ever possible LOL) and on top of all it has tonns of polygons in it (it's not suitable for the PC racing game). I'm feeling it's a challenge to make new one better ;-)

Do you got beef with the Countach

Best Lambo ever made! Best sports car ever made!

Although I'm partial to the Murci

Lately I've resumed this project of mine.
I've had a new thought about representing cars shape more accurately. So far I'm planning it's shape in wires. I discovered a nice plugin that enables to match virtual camera with real-life photo by several key-points (CameraMatch by Taft).
So I setup few frames and it worked really good :-) It is especially usefull since there are no trustworthy blueprints for my favourite Lambo. Those few I found are different from one each other. So I went into a combo of side photos, dimensions data and photos. There are few problems however - dimensions data is different from photos (i.e. wheelbase is 2440 instead of 2500, tracks are more narrow).
