Porsche 911 Carrera S (997)

I finally started on the new Porsche and this is how far I got. The headlight-shape is really giving me headaches as the bps are not only not accurate, they also don't line up properly. I've already spent a considerable amount of time on tweaking them, but as you can see, there are still issues. I might have to remodel them, but for now I'm sick of them and am posting what I got.

Please c&c!

Regards,

Linsen

P.S.: Tweaks of my Turbo, some of you have probably seen, will come later. I don't feel like doing final touches and renders atm.

looks pretty good so far (dense mesh looks fantastic)

only thing im going to have to say is that the headlight glass part is going to have to be fixed so all of the points dont weld together in the center because you get those hideous bubbles that form

looks clean otherwise

lol i think thats why porsche's style has hardly changed .. ever because it just looks so good

while working on this boxster, im seriously thinking about getting one of these at some point in time (because they are so cheap)

Thx guys!

@RS: Well, you could be right about bumps, but I'm not sure either. That part was a little tiresome. Not so much because of the general shape, but indeed because of it's bumpiness. I spent a fair amount of time on tweaking it already, but sometimes it's almost like one's getting sort of snow-blind when looking at the same area over and over again. But I'll check again and see if there's still room for improvement.

@clix101: Thx, I guess I have something going for the 911-series . But it's only my second Porsche and I'm sure there are others who have made more and are more skilled.

@XCNuse: Yep, I agree on the headlight glass and fix it as soon as possible. Thx for pointing it out.

@tomsullivan and XCNuse: Exactly, why change something that already is perfect . Thinking about it, the F-model/G-model/964 was practically unchanged for almost 30 years (well, slight modifications from F to G and even more slightly from G to 964). I can't think of any other brand that has managed that. Imho, the only model that did not look good was the 996 (plump exterior with hideous headlights and cheap interior), but fortunately with the 997 they're on the right track again.

And yeah, as soon as I win in the lottery, I'll get myself a nice Carrera 3,2 -- and if I win big I'll add a 997 Carrera S -- and a GT3 for tracking -- or an RS if I can get one .

sweet start on it. porsches have their own charm so the design doesn't need any kind of modification. i just love how they look

the area around the bottom air intakes is rather inaccurate, mostly because the edges are too sharp.
