Toyota Supra

This is my first model, i'm getting into it and i've put around an hour into this so far. Only the front left fender and part of the bonnet done. There are alot of errors so far, the actual model is quite low-poly, but i slapped on a turbo-smooth for the renders. Also, does anyone know which Rendering program i could use? I'm quite happy with using the In-House rendering on 3DSM8 but i could use a better program if i'm going to get more into this. Thanks alot! All comments and advice will be taken into thought.

Things to be done in near future:
-* rear quarter panel
-* bonnet completed
-* headlights

I really don't know whether to continue with this project, i'm considering starting one on a new car, something a little less curvy.

as a begginer i would say that the supra is a hard car to model but youve made a good attempt at it I would recomment using the Toyota Supra tutorial by *RedStar* which will help you alot

i think you should finish it, i really think that if you try and finished modeles yeah starting out, you learn a lot more than just say doin a fender on 10 cars. even if its not the best modeling, i still think you get so much more out of finishing projects

as for renders, there a couple of choices
vray, you can pick up the demo here Chaos Group home page - V-Ray, Aura and more
Mental ray, that comes with max 8
Maxwell, demo can be found here Maxwell Render ™ : The Light Simulator. Render engine. Multilight ™. Materials. Photorealistic...

bascily they all do the same thing, (like most 3d programs) just have different way of gettting there, i would recomend metal ray for now, its free and should be already on your computer.

If you can turn, your not going FAST enough

I'm gonna try V-ray, see if that works well. I'm gonna do some more on the Supra later on i think, well try at least.

EDIT:
I've got a quick question. How would i join points together? Where the gap is going along the bottom of the side, how would i join that gap together to make a surface?

I drew a little picture to explain what you should (or what I usually do).

And yeah, you should try to finish it. But take your time, do a lot of tweaking to each part until your rather satisfied with it. Only then move on to the next part. And I hope you really like the car you're modeling, because that is, imho, the key to being able to finish a project. If you don't really like what you're modeling you'll probably lose interest (unless you're being paid for modeling that is, of course ).
