front/rear side marker lights looks bit too bright... other than that is pretty perfect piece of work.

BLOODY OATH!!!

if my camaro turns out half as nice as these render i will be over the moon

so much to bloody look at, altho pop the bonnet

this has to be one the of great 3d cars made, i thought the modeling was great but the rendering is even better, top class work.

If you can turn, your not going FAST enough

Great to finally see this beauty in all it's glory! Materials look really nice and the black one is just badass!

Two minor things: Personally I feel that a little lower camera angle would be even nicer. And the ground could use some minor imperfections, a slight bump map or something, to make it look even more real.

You made it Gareth.
That open-doors view is super in every tiny detail.

I wonder what the next project will be.

@ Zachary - thanks man, your comment means a lot to me, glad you like it

@ Tom - Cheers! There is an open bonnet render on the way, but I think we all know which is THE greatest 3D car ever made (hint: it's red!)

@ MuscleCarFreak - thanks. Sometimes I loose interest when I get to the back, but I tried to treat each part as a separate project. In fact I think my modelling got better as I went along so the back is probably better than the front!

@Tol@te - thanks for your comments. As for the next one..... hmmmm.

@ Linsen - yeah I like the black too, really suits the car but I'm going to try and render every colour possible if I can put up with the render times! You're right about the floor, I think it needs something. I like what Tom has done with his scene so I might try and improve things if I can.

@ Agent00J - thanks, another fan of the black paint eh?

@ ScoobyBoy - cheers for your comment, and thanks for showing me how to use light cache and irradiance maps. Now hurry up and finish that MR2!

@ Palat - you're one of the people that inspired me in the first place, so I should be thanking you really! And there's that 'next project' question again.... Truth is, I not sure if there will be one as I just want to keep rendering this one for ever

@ FlashG - thank you. The details got too much for me sometimes but I guess it was worth it in the end.

Done another render, front view this time, lower down as Linsen suggested and in fashionable brown.

I wish i could spend the time and effort on this level of modeling standard.
This and tom's Camaro are the best models i have ever seen and not only at SMCars.

Before you do new renders (i know you tested other colors but anyway) this link might be helpful: Chip Chart Image

with a more 'natural' surrounding, this could be easily taken for a photo!

However, from this perspective, I noticed a veeery small possible inaccuracy with the front bumper: I think the "step" where the bumper stands out most needs to be at higher position, so the part which is directly under the grill is a little more flat. Right now, it looks really like 50-50, but compare it to how it looks like on this pic, for example:
http://www.casscomm.com/~takhm/P1-Home/69_Charger_8.gif
I hope you get what I mean, if not I can mark it in your render .

Thanks again Palat, you're too kind. That paint colour sheet is just what I needed. And thanks MuscleCarFreak, it wasn't easy modelling the bumper from photos so you're probably right about the step/pointy bit position needing to be a bit higher up. On the owners' club website someone pointed out that it wasn't quite right too. When I get time I'll have another look at it, just for you
In the meantime, here's a view of the rear-end, painted black with the 'stripe delete' option.

Cool, thanks in advance .

Rear end looks frightfully accurate, you notice it's a Charger from 2 miles away (with good eyes).

LOL! Who needs awards anyway, I just did what I enjoyed doing so if people like it that's fine and if they don't that's fine too. I think for it to be considered a decent piece of work on cgtalk it really needs to be in some sort of scene, rather than the dull grey box it is in at the moment. I'd like to make a scene for it, maybe something industrial like a warehouse or dockyard.
And sorry Tom, but I really don't think I'll do another car for a while as I want to spend time rendering this one. There is, sort of another project that has been running in parrallel to this one all along, but you'll have to look out for that elsewhere as it didn't get a very good reception here when I mentioned it last time (hint: there won't be any 'open' door renders)
For now here's a render showing the engine of the standard version:

yeah ture that , also for some reason cgtalk dont like car at all, they dont go down well. i beat if you made quick 5min person and scense, you would get more commnets on them lol

i know what you mean working on a car for a year, drains the batteries a bit, lol. altho i didnt get your hint lol

and there is the glammer shot
looks fantastic, i am really not looking forward to my engine bay, there is a lot of exposed metal, i am not sure how i am goin to do it yet.

Yep there's the money shot now it's time for an "all open" render! That's where the car really shines, showing all those details you did.

Agree with the cgtalk stuff, don't bother posting there, they're not into cars mostly. A nice scene with the style of "Dangeruss" will do the car some justice
It's been said, but hats off to you man, excellent work, this is definitely my favourite CG car I've seen since I got into this (and it's actually one of my favourite mopars! though can't beat a '71 cuda hehe).
