hey dan, glad you like it!
i actually use brazil, is it easy to do a light working as a lightbox on there? Does it just cause reflection, specular illumination and shadows? im heading back to college today where i have all the data on a flash drive. the only thing i lost was the windshield wipers, so ill be getting more work done on this baby! |

Apart from the missing roof intakes, this looks absolutely sweet! wow with this and the 69 Camaro and Charger by tom and geezer I guess we have summed up all my favorite cars lately

thanks everyone for the comments. i still dont feel like this model should be mentioned in the same sentence as tom's and gare's!
tom: thanks for those pictures, i gave them a once over right now but i will definitely use them. i am sure that it won't be nearly as detailed as yours, mainly because i don't know how you can make things so sharp and smooth at the same time. do you use poly modeling? there will definitely be an engine, a full interior, and a trunk. as well as brakes and hopefully something to at least fill up space under the car. since fastbacks are hard to get a hold of, i would love to get a 65 coupe and learn how to totally rebuild it. as a tribute to my dad since that was his first car. of course, i would make it great for the 21st century ![]() as for the girl... i really suck at organic modeling, so maybe when the car is finished i can get someone i know to 'pose' in the studio! haha im off to watch cars the animated movie, but i will get some work done tonight! thanks for all the interest! |

and my modeling technique, i use a lot, poly modeling, splines and box, i think the major thing that gets ppl is that different object call for different methods. i tend to look at the basic shape of an object then create a box or a cylinder, wat ever that basic shape was then work from that. and for teh more complexed shapes i use splines a lot. and for the body i just used the simple poly extrution method. also i dont know if you saw, i upload some pictures of a 302 clevo ford engine, i think the stangs used the windsor, but you could right a clevo off as a windsor, the major difference i saw was with teh housing for the timmming chain. if you havent seen the engine pictures yet they are jsut here http://www.smcars.net/forums/picture...nd-engine.html ![]() If you can turn, your not going FAST enough |

The 'Stang rocks, I love it. It has every right to be mentioned in the same sentence as the others. We're not elite-ist (I think that's how you spell it), I look at other people's work and drool over what they have done all the time. If you want to model every nut and bolt then that's cool, but it's also cool to finish the modelling and start rendering - so a model isn't always better coz it has more detail.... it's just more detailed

thanks guys, tom i downloaded all of those zip files. theyre a huge help, thanks!
and i began working on the engine block. i dont have the attention span to model all the little details but it was a good test of how far i could go before i got sick of it and it will still look good enough in the car. hope you like it! |

that should look great when rendered in the car with the rest of the engine bay, i just did a car with a rotary engine transplanted into it, it had much less detail than that but still looked good when rendered...the bit that got me annoyed was putting the billions of cables in...
keep it up, cant wait to see more ![]() ![]() ![]() Current WIPs: SuperGT stuff LCA Contest: Days of Thunder Lumina Future Ideas: Late 80s/Early 90s Australian Touring Cars
