Another Supra

Yeah, I decided to re-do one...again. I'm trying to improve acuracy. Every time I look at the pictures back and forth I notice little things I can change. I also notice, every time I model this car, how inacurate the prints really are.

Here are side-by-side renders:

I think your headlights need more of a curve on the fender. Nice start tho.

I made several adjustments around the headlamp and bumper intake. I also reshaped the fender, and made the door.

I think everyone has done a Supra...lol. This is probobly my fourth or fifth honest attempt.

i haven't.. actually i take that back i did start on one lol, i might actually do it at some point in time

only crit here is the side front bumper inlets, the most outside edges look to hard in comparison to that of the picture
that and i think that hard line at the top and towards the front of the door is slightly to sharp, other than that.. this is starting off good

Team STi

"uh oh, yep i'm flyin through the air, this is not good"

I made a bunch of adjustments around the headlight, but now there is a little buldge. I also softened the edge on top of the door like XCNuse pointed out. The quarter panel looks a little wide, but I think it may just be a little sharp. The body line for the inlet that runs through the door is still a little sharp as well...I will get that softened up.
The 'A' pillar is just a start and still needs a couple cuts and chamfering.

looks good.. just to point.. i have a feeling that the top of the door is bumpy, reason i say that is because the reflections are all wavey around that part.. once again, its just a feeling.. i could be wrong and the door could be perfect

There are a couple issues with the back being too wide, but as far as I can see the front is matching up very well with my referances.
The nose looks long, but after importing a referance image in as a background and lining it up in the Perspective viewport it lines up almost perfectly.

1 thing that might be a point of intrest to you is. I dont think the supra door handles actually have a hole like that. Its more like they lay over the surface.

It's more of a 'placement' hole. For one, so I can work in a user view later and know where it's supposed to be, and two, so I don't have to worry about overlapping surfaces after smoothing.

I'm not an experianced modeler but I think that That dark reflection on the front fender above the wheel well may be off. It looks like its formed by a concave shape that shouldnt be there. I don't know if that's how the car actually is but it seems like that should be a continuous convex shape tha tangents into the radius of the hood. Also that indention in the door that leads into the read brake vent seems a little off. I think its because the portion of the indention at about the center of the door could be a little more curved in and it could blend into that sharper line formed by the vent a little more. Otherwise though it looks really good. I'm hoping that one day I will be able to model that good.

The key to power is efficiency. Efficiency, in part, is obtained by maintaining momentum. Maintaining momentum can be described as applying resistance only where resistance acts as a catalyst for greater positive acceleration.

I have comparison pictures on the first page...The fender is just like it is supposed to be.

About the door...I am not sure I understand what you are pointing out, but see the referance pics on the first page, and let me know.

I have been going through bandwith WAY too fast lately so I have to cut back on how much I can show at one time.

Anyway I fabbed up the lower accents and filled in a couple holes.
All of the lower accents need modification, but my computer needed a restart, so this is what I had...I'll have more tonight.
