after hundreds of test renders heres something new i was trying to light this thing just with lights and no light planes, which proved to be a bit difficult, i like the light on the glass but it gave some weird looking reflections on the trunk area...but im here to get some fresh eyes on this so crit away.

Looks pretty good! just a couple of things....
Car Paint: Seems a little to black, maybe make the diffuse 10, 10, 10 or something higher if that's the current value. Studio: Seems a bit dark, i suggest making it a little lighter. Question: did you get those highlights by putting a very bright vray light facing a dark plane? Or myabe just a well placed light plain. I did that and got decent results, i had a problem where it looks like yours a little bit, but i never took it any further. Hmm i really like the atmposphere, very realistic. Can you give us some more information about this setup? Do you use spotlights with vrayshadows? And i love the reflections on the glass, but you are right about the trunk area.
To get to sergo's point, you can exclude object from a light source, so you can delete the trunk area from the light and use another light for that area. I just never did that because of the complexity it brings. Good luck with it, and maybe try to make the car paint to be a bit more metallic. |
