ok, well

it looks like an inaccurate supra

if it was a concept car, we would critique it by giving suggestions on how to make body lines flow better, etc. of course, if you only want it to look your own way, then you might as well post it in the finished section or just lock the thread...

rims do look pretty good tho

...inaccurate, maybe...Still recognisable as a Toyota Supra? Deffinately. You can't tell me that someone with even the slightest knowledge of cars couldn't tell me that this car does NOT look like a Supra.

sarN...Moving it to the finished section? Mate...He's obviously not done modeling, 'cos 1/2 an hour ago he added head-lights. Just because he is choosing to model a full car from his head, it's automatically a bad thing?? It's a car, and if he wanted it to be accurate, he would've obviously used prints/refs from the word go...

The guy just wants to build a 3D car, so why don't we all just stop ruining his thread, and start crtiquing his model on looks, details and his own personal touches, instead of just accuracy...

I'm debating on whether or not to put a wing on there, and given the crits i've gotten so far, anything besides a supra stock wing would give me the same reactions....

dude, put w/e you like, as long as YOU like it, thats all that matters, if other people dont like, its their problems. you have to think about it, are you modeling this model to satisfy other people?? or are you modeling this model to satisfy yourself.

example, when i modeled a few of my models, they were pretty stock, and my friends didnt like them and wanted them to be crazy tuned and stuff, did i care?? no, i left the model as is b/c thats how i liked it. another example?? look at redstar's models, you may see mods you dont like, but will he care?? no, he likes it, why should he change it b/c you dont like it, you see what i mean.

if you find a wing that fits, that is if YOU think that fits and you like it, go ahead bro, make it, model it, put it on the car

I always loved the supras for their stock wing. Seriously, it's kickass. It looks good, it's not exagerately big but it defenitly isn't small either. The stock wing would be my choice, but should you add anything else (or not add at all ), I won't be bashing you for innacuracy

And the car looks kickass I am in total love with the paint, and you've got yourself a big bumper, which I like, but I believe the lip might be too big.

i want to add something sharp, to match the lip on the bumper, and the stock wing is just too round for that.
As for the rims, i can't seem to make a decent aluminum material that has a reflection. So i would greatly appreciate any suggestions for the material.

I would go with wht ever one else is saying keep the stock wing. I am not a big supra fan but the wing that comes stock on there does look pretty kick ass if you ask me.

Added TailLights and rear bumper seam...
played with the wing a bit, and decided not to keep it.

i dont know about the vray thing, probably b/c you are missing the correct lights, but about the taillights, they are incorrect, they are not tubes sticking out, they are actually holes in the surface... i would show you a ref pic, but you clearly wouldnt want me to b/c like your title says 'supra, no ref pics'

Okay hey Sk3ptic, I just need to say something. If you are asking do your RENDERS look good, then I would say the materials are nice, but the lighting isn't so much. If you are asking if your MODEL looks nice then nobody can really answer that because you must define nice. The only meaning of nice that you can really ask here if you aren't using ref pics is to ask if there are no bumps and pinches. If you mean is it a nice model in general then everyone must compare it to the real thing. OR if you just mean is it a nice attempt to model without using ref-pics then yes it is.

and zach: i had no clue what they looked like, i just knew there are 4 of those circles, and i tried to make it look good i still have to correct the materials, (white, yellow, and red <as opposed to> black, red, grey)

wow, surprisingly enough, the materials were painless
here is a quick render, still not too happy with metallic red material.
