Just to get things straight, no one is cutting you down, or offended, we are merely stating a fact to help you out.
We are all speaking for experience, when you don't look at reference you usually get things wrong. It's nothing personal, it's just how we as humans are. We don't look at very fine details.

I think you are either misunderstanding everyone or blowing everything out of proportion. SMCars does not tolerate adolescent attitudes.

As you can see from my last post, I pointed things out, but I guess you didn't notice that.

Obviously you are more for learning how to get the shape and feel for the modeling tools than you are for accuracy. Which is greatly accepted, do as you wish.

Again, no one is offended, we are all here to help you out.

if that's not shooting me AND my project down... i don't know what would u consider it to be :/
why does it have to be accurate is all im asking!? and no one seems to answer me...
and as i said.. a couple people did give helpful comments... yourself included... so don't take what i said the wrong way... my post was directed at redstar.. and i was serious, im not gonna update this car no more - cause apparently he doesn't want to see it :/

as for adolecent attitudes.. im not sure if ur talking about me, but if u were please explain, cause all i've been so far was polite....

Easy guys. I can see what hes doing its a " Lets see if I can project" if he wants to do an accurate car then he can grab one of the 12k prints we have here. But he wants to just see how good his memory is. so be it

just because one person doesn't like the idea doesn't mean you should stop altogether.

You say you're trying to do stuff to make the car look better in your opinion... so why not make the original as accurate as possible, then remake it after that, sorta like a body kit conceptualization?

If people can make body kits to turn pontiac fieros into ferarri testarossas, I'm sure body kits to tweak things here and there on a supra wouldn't be too bad.

Just like the move from the '05 impreza design to the '06 impreza design. Quite a few people thought that was awful, but just as many liked it. I'm sure that inspired quite a few folks out there to come up with concepts for an impreza that they thought looked good, or at least better than what the current offering was.

you know, this is not what smc is about, we are not here to crit the crap out of your car to the point where you dont even want to show your work anymore... yes there are people that may not like it, but guess what its their problems because this is YOUR model and not theirs, the rest.. or MAJORITY of the members on smc will be more then happy to help you out with quick tips and tricks in modelling.

take for example the 06 civic SI thread we have in WIP, too many polygons and mesh is not the cleanest, but its understandable, its one of his first models, and right now me and other members are more then happy to help him improve his skills, yes we did point all those things out to him, did he quit? did he say he'll stop posting? no he didnt, he actaully got more encouragemnt to even start all over again in order to improve, and this my friend, is what smc is all about, helping and encouraging members

personally, i'd love to see your latests projects.. so come on buddy, post them up

@Sk3ptic...i totally understand you, and i respect the fact that even after so many negative comments you kept on going, and i'm glad this thread is still alive which proves you haven't given up.. keep it going man, with no reference so far you did a pretty darn good job

hey

um i 've just read this topic...and s3ptic yeah that's a great job..keep it going...do it as like...
that's the more important ...for REDSTAT!!!...............i THINK that the least thing that
you can do is excuse your self...calling peopl's work a pile of ****e??...are you a fool or what?...
and what!...you are an administrator! that's great ...if i was your superior i 'll just pull you to a junior menber...hey people !...do you realize!...is that a behavior of an admin?...frankly saying
...that's more than childish...that's more than irrespectful to people...that's more than what ever disapointing thing you can find in this *********** world.... and tha's coming out from an
administrator...as i said the least thing you MUST do my dear is to excuse your self to s3ptic...
as well as all other menbers that was disapointed by your post...i know you are a good car modeler!...and so what? i know you are an admin! and so what?...is that means that you can insult people like this as you like...

Just find this WIP amusing... but well those are the sort of things you get from hardcore modellers when you attempt something like this.

It's something like...

A: "hey, i wanna draw Tom Cruise, without reference.. C&C pls"
B: "the eyes are too small, face too plump, ..."
A: "hey, this is not supposed to be accurate, it's my version of tom"
*B goes mad*

Nice. My only prob is with the size of the wheels. They make the car look like a "Donk Tuner". :?

Its not bad from memory but really u should do like a concept car or something from your head, then ppl cant bitch about accuracy all they can say is things to make it better or errors, bumps etc... Finish the supra up and then maybe draw out a car of your own, maybe combine 2 different cars u know something that u would like to see made in real life. Also thinking about it i may just draw up a concept car of my own ummmm.

Keep it up and dont give up, its your model no one else's you model wht u like to see.
