Hello!! Need advice...plx

Hello guys!! i'm new here and after looking at all the w.i.p. here i decided to ask for help. i noticed that most of u guys are using editable poly for modelling...i started with nurbs and i'm NOT doing great at all. i get stuck at some point. i need some quick step by step advice on how to work with editable poly, what are the major differences from nurbs, and first of all what do i start with??? im getting so frustrated with this and i really really want to learn. please help me. thank you

hey welcome to SMCars
let me just say, max isnt meant for nurbs.. infact max is if the worst program to use for nurbs... u want nurbs, use rhino... max is all about polygon modelling

welcome rickyss you start wih a plane, and convert to editable poly.
and got from there.
There are some good tutorials in the tutorial section check em out

well...for now max is the only one im familiar with, but i will give a try to rhino and maybe others that get the job done better

but thats only if u want nurbs, if you want to learn max polygon modeling, there are loads of tutorials.. if u want the infamous free A3 video tutorial that most people start off with then head over to 3d-Palace and go to tutorials section..

Im not really a fan of nurbs, i get by a lot better with poly modelling but i had this strong impression that cars are nurbs specific... but anyway doesnt really matter how u do it as long as u get there. I have like a few gigs of car tutorials but i didnt bump into this A3 model from 3dpalace, gonna check it out. the thing with tutorials is that i always seem to get lost at some point, i dont know maybe i overlook some obvious details. thanx for the kind advice !!!!
