@jsruk: I know, I'll fix it as fast as I can. My mobo failed last weekend and now I'm trying to get a new one.

Thanks for all comments anyway. I'm off to a computer store now.

A little progress(at least). Made the wing, it isn't very accurate, but the car is going to be a game model(for TrackMania Nations & Sunrise), so I tried to save some polies here and there(read: 201 polies for the whole wing). It doesn't look that crap judging by the clay renders and that is all what matters. Hope you guys still have time for C&C. The car doesn't look very highpoly, could you guys help me make my car more realistic? Oh, and by the way, in the car has got two exhaust holes on the back bumper, I will fix it ASAP.

Not bad, but you should really add some more edges (window corners and lights).

Yeah, I'll seperate the parts when the rest of the model is finished(interior, wheels, lights, etc...), but I don't know how... are there any good tutorials for creating lowpoly seams?

//Edit: Oh crap, I didn't notice the windshield problem.

I made things more round and smooth, but now I've ran into problems with pinches around rear lights. Could someone help me fix it? Please respond fast. Those are driving me nuts. Oh, and jsruk, could you show me closeup of your headlights?

//Edit: Don't worry about triangles, TrackMania will smooth them out nicely.

I'm not an expert but I'd try to move vertices and weld them (red arrows).

Don't forget to save a copy of your file before doin' that.

Could anybody point out what the hell is distotring some of my renders?
Here's an example, and the lastest render of the car.

@LOST: I'll try, and post some renders soon.

//Edit: I'm sorry, LOST, but your method didn't work. It actually made it worse and more visible.
//Edit2: Added a "clean" render.

Sorry, If this method wasn't good, I would just cut it a little bit (maybe work on the smoothing groups) or if this wouldn't help the delete all these polys and make these lights from the beggining.

Sorry for just a minor update again, 5 flat-shaded wires and a quick(and literally dirty) render. The car has got now exactly 5058 tris right now. I've had 7 school exams last two weeks and it has pushed the heck out of me. Now I have a lot more time for the car, so please keep your eyes open, more updates to come!

Sorry for a late update; I have screwed up my model twice this week and I have been fixing a lot of errors and I also got a new pair of Wharfedale Diamond 9.1's ;-) ... Anyways here's the update. The wheels+rims are 401 quads each.

OK. I tried to smooth the model a little bit (Turbosmooth with 1 iteration), and this is the result. The polyflow seems to be clean, few glitches here & there, but I will fix them. I have marked out problems that I'm aware of onto the wire - so, what do you think, should I go with the smoothed one or the lowpoly. The T-smoothed model has got 11000 quads. It is still in my maximum budget of 20000 q's.

//Edit: Sorry, forgot to upload images...

Damn, how nice the car looks in Trackmania Sunrise. I'll post screens and a video from the game tomorrow, but for now, I only have a render of the car.
Thanks for all C&C and general help regarding this Mazda. For comparison, I have posted a render of the very first step of the car. Look out for the video tomorrow!

DragonArt

PS. Special thanks for mpfive for his priceless help.

Come on man, an rx-7 doesn't look like a rx-7 with that kit anymore
It's a beautifull kit nonetheless
