Smile HJ HX HZ Panel van tuned

Hi all, In the future I am buying a panel van in one of these models.
prefer the HZ but will be happy with the others.
Now I am going to do some body mods, to try suit what I am after.
I figured this may be the best way to get a look at what the alterations may look like.
At the moment I cannot find any good ref pics of these models. so I am going to go by memory and what poor images I have found.
I am going to change the roof line if it is poss to make it look right.
@ Prykie you did the one tonner, did you see any good refs of the van at all ?

Plus is there anyone in this forum that is good at drawing, as I need a mural drawn up to see if it looks right for the model and poss colour I want to do.

Now the images so far are very rough, I know there are a lot of mistakes, just needed out line first.

any help would be great.

Well I guess at this stage no interest, o well ....
Any way I have some more updates, and was hopeing someone can help.
on the centre line where I have the water cill, it stuffs up when smoothed how do I stop it from doing this. Thanks

I have a b4 and after wire of it happening. any help would be greatful.
I know there are problems with shape to date, if anyone can get me some good shots of the panel van 800 x 600 or larger would be great.
ones I have at moment too small for detail.
and yes I have search a lot of places but I cant find any bigger than 400x264 just a bit too small for the detail I am after.
So if any of you ozzie's out have a camera or some good shots of one please help.
I am carrying mine just in case. TA

thanks

Haha!! Don't worry pal...I'll make your day and be the very first to post here!!

Try applying the Symetry modifier with 'Weld Vertices' checked OFF....Weld it manually. It's a bit tedious, but it works. It's happened on very rare occasions for me, and I'm sure there's an easier way of fixing it, but this is how I solved the problem.

Your mesh looks at LITTLE bit bumpy in places, so try just using 'Relax' on a few faces, and something about the seams in between the each panel is a bit off. It sorta looks like the metal's bulging out, if you get what I mean...

Also, if I was doing a panel-van mate, I'd do a kick-ass hand-painted vinyl texture for the sides!! Add a little personal touch to it!!

Thanks Dr Feelgood for your feed back.

If you look at the first post on here you will see I have asked if someone within SMcars car draw up something for the mural for the side of the van and tailgate.
I am not saying what I want till I know that someone can do either one for me. as I can not draw no where near good enough.

Yeah about the seams, the car is that small due to the size of the only b/print I have, the seams are done with a .01 chamfer extremely small.
So I am going to have to try and enlarge the b/print without pixelating the image ?? might be able to with a trace or something.

The weld area we are talking about, I do not weld the other half till that part is finished, so I do not have to manually have to change each side.
Just that I have not had this happen to me before, it maybe the small size of the chamfers at the zero point might be the culprit ? shall see.

PS. the b/print is of a ute and that is why I am try slowly to get the van roof etc right.

thanks

Thanks prykie for the url, I had already looked at that site, but did not have what I was after in quality of images and position.

I have fixed the problem with the polies going where they like. I started again and blew the b/print up by double.

Shall post new images soon
