first go on headlight texturing. it's still missing the bulb, and the rendertime is very bad :?

18minutes for that pic, and thats without any radiosity

todays renders... not as good as i hoped - texturing needs a lot of work.
plus the renders are quite slow

Jeeze the entire body looks great, may take a while to render but when you get that perfect render, I imagine it all becomes worth the time. The car looks very very nice. Do you have a shot of the real car in the front? The headlights look a bit large but then again hehe you would know more than me. Thanks for showing.

Those lights aren't too big, they are just perfect
Nice renders
But uhm.. does the upper one take twice as long as the other one, only because of those lights??? hock:

k updates.

i dont have many refs for this car - all i know is that zum's prints are for 1973 Targa Florio winner.
all the refs i have for this car are different, different bumpers, spoilers, wheels, etc. so i'm kind of free-styling.

this car HAS to be finished and rendered before january 28, which is the deadline for ExposeII

so i need to model a racetrack segment and render it... arghh

anyways pics:
(started on the interior)

refs:

these are all pictures of the same chassis.... or 2 different chassis
there are quite a few differences in every picture

Oooh. Nice pictures, majestic! What a sweet car. The one thing however that i notice is the same on the shots, but different on you car is the hoodpin arrangement, where the car IRL has those Rubber latch-style ones, not the more common(on modern cars) pin style.

Not a big deal, and i am sure that modern racers would probably make the swap that you did, as the old rubber ones can pop under speed at times. hock:

You car is looking soooo good. I love the headlights.

on the racetrack, with motionblur

@loungekid: i'm going to model the rubber latches right now

Yeah, Sweet! You should totally set it up with just the slightest amount of opposite lock too, just a teeny little slide going on,with the track and the motion blur... That will look brilliant.

a little update.. fixed a few bugs, added teh rubber things, and other minor stuff

this is even a quicker render without any aa.

@loungekid: that depends on rendertimes...
