Mitsubishi FTO

Hello Everyone!

I'm a beginner in modeling working on my first car. I've completed several cars with the help of tutorials, but this will be the first car on my own. I suck with texturing and rendering, so my screenies may not be that good. Any advice you can recommend would be appreciated.

Thanx everyone! Yes I am a beginner ! Been modelling for about four months now. I was really fortunate to learn from a lot of helpful tutorials, not to mention looking at the great models you guys have been posting here. And of course a lot of trial and error, I think I've trashed more models than I finished

I'm using 3ds Max 8 and the default scanline renderer

looks good but the hood is inaccurate theres actually bubbles with a shallow crease to show the shape of the bubbles above the wheel wells

Could you post renders and wires in bigger resolution?

I've found that you may want to cut this edge, cos' I think it may cause a bump on rear part render.

im not sure about that LOST, that would create 2 triangles there and prob would be better with the quad.. and i dont see any bumps on the original render..

marty-bett - I've seen that whole wheelarch is round but in this place points aren't moved so it may look a little square in that part. Especially because this wire looks like meshsmooth is on.

Just a small update. I wanted to see what it would look like with wheels. These aren't the wheels I'll use, just a quick view. I also finished the door handle.

SirDavidP, I found a reference that clearly shows the bump you mentioned. I haven't got it perfect yet, but I am working on it.

another small update. I'm working on 6 cars at the same time, so updates will be few and far between. Not happy with my tires, will probably redo them. Sorry, can't produce those great renders everyone else is posting just yet, hope these screenies are good enough.

Yeah, I agree. These tires would probably work better on an SUV.
