Cool project Flash, is this for fun or do you intend on trying to get a job with it one day?
If you want to animate vehicles realisticly you could use Vehicle Studio 1.7, which is a car simulator plugin for Max. Because since we've had some animation lessons here at school, I've come to realize that I absolutely hate manual animation and would rather use fancy simulation plugins instead ![]() I've got it here, do plan on learning it for animating my Cala once It's done and I get some time. If you wanna know more about obtaining it just hit me up on MSN . |

take it from the expert of over-planning demo reels/3d projects... I think trying to recreate a section of existing city isn't the best plan of attack...
If I'd have it to do over again, I woudl've just modeled freely - designing the buildings as I went along, because you'll find yourself having to go back out to that same section again like you wouldn't believe. It took me over 2,500 photos alone to try to recreate a small section of my home town, and quite frankly, I should've taken about 8,000. Gathering the resources is such a waste of time. A better idea might be to take some model railroading catelogs, like walther's or something, and create some of the buildings in there, while trying to keep them realistically sized (model railroading stuff is compressed for smaller sizes, and only is a charicature of the buildings) At least that way you have the refs right in front of you, as well as an idea of what type of environment would look cool. Some of those industrial buildings like concrete processing plants, or sawmills would make for excellent models ![]()

LoL Xol, well I'll get back to you later tomorrow then
![]() I bought C&C Tiberium Wars and it is eating my modeling time quite alot atm ![]() Thanks for the tip MMM, didn't think that myself at all. I also started to think that I won't make exact copy of my hometown but to make it look bit like it. Would be too much of work for sure |

Sweet! Somehow those low-poly cars that you make looks so clean and you manage to maintain the shape.
