Lamborghini Murcielago in SketchUp

Hi!

I've started to make a Murcielago in 3D. I'm not very good to make cars in 3D, and I'm using SketchUp so I dosen't use the best program eighter. But I would really like C&C on my work so far.

I started on the hood, and I'll make everything out form that.

You have definitely too many rows of polys on the fenders (vertically) and on the hood (horizontally) and too small amount of polys going down on the hood and the bumper. You should also make some rows of polys on the bumper and the fender (horizontally).

Well, like I said, I haven't made many cars in 3D, and I have some problem with deciding were I shall have the lines and how many.

I agree with Catlin, pretty crazy where you got now, I thought Sketchup could only do some blocks and cilinders and simple operations like extrusion.
Anyway, I would recommend that you go to another program, you're never going to be able to get a decent result with Sketchup, since I can tell from your wireframes that it's pretty impossible to get a decent polyflow (hell, it doesn't even have vert/edge/polygon modes).

Thanks! I'll try the program Catlin is talking about, zmod, after I've finished this model

Anyway, here is UPDATE #2

I've just finished the front of the car (extremly happy with my self ) It took me about 5 hours to get the front the way I wanted it to be So I'll now go over the the sides, and I'll hopfully start at the roof later this evening.

More detailed but now you have too many polys on the fender in both ways (horizontally and vertically)!

UPDATE #3

I've now finished one of the sides of the car, and even made the side-vent. I'll begin at the back after I've finished the other side, just started at it.

Definitely very bad poly placement. You can save 50% of them and get nicer look by placing them properly. Maybe it it because of the program you're using.

Yeah, maybe. It isn't really meant to draw cars and such things, but I think it looks nice

Hehe, thanks! Well, it isn't really the first time I use the program I think I've tried to make 8-12 cars, but never managed to finisih it. And SketchUp isn't really the best program to make cars and such things in, because of the very "noob" layout, and really easy to learn.

So thanks again!
