anyways... an update, correction on the roof periscope, and replaced the rims with the original lp400 rims... if i'm going to make the model detailed, i might as well make it authentic.


i posted it on cgtalk originally since it was for a friendly comp. over at nfs cars, so nighteye for example wasn't allowd to see it (no pics till the end job)

i withdrew it from the comp last night, out of stupidity because i read the polycount wrong, and thought i had gone waaaaaay over the limit.... turned out to be a hidden guide object (found out this morning) that i used to get the shape right, of course now i'm kicking myself because i've got to make a new car.

@icekid84 : hmm the tires have been disturbing me for a while, the problem with them is.... they look pretty dodgy in real life.. a few pics i have make the tires look over inflated rubber balloons... now that' ive got the original rims, i'll work on getting them looking normal

I've seen the early Countachs with those "balloon"-tyres too so that's pretty accurate.

not much left to do but complete the interior i think, i re-rendered with the new rims, and i have to say it's a vast improvement, i think the cheapo old rims made the model look bad.

anyways i think the model is coming along nicely, shouldn't bee too long before i release the nfs4 version.. then i'll work on a racer port... and a hi-res render version for my desktop.

I think you shouldn't use these rims, they just don't fit on the Countach, use those other ones, with the holes, they loook muuuccchhh better on it :wink:

well the reason for the rim change, as well as the lack of spoiler and wheel arches, is that it's the LP400, the 5 hole rims, and spoiler came about with the later lp400s and stayed on till the last countach.

it looks weird for people who are unfamiliar or used to the later models, at a later point i'll swap to the other rims, once i've added the lp400s wing, wheel arches, and front bumper

one rim with tires is 860 triangles. the old version was 600, but you can see where the extra 260 went, i think.

the total count for everything is now just under 13k but that includes an hidden :OL part for the pop up lights (1000), and badging on the rear, (lambo badge (600) countach (500)

i decided to detach the doors earlier.... soon an interior will fill that space

Sweet work, yeah I like these rims better for authentic reasons. You've done a fantastic job on this even the renders look great, good to see a Lamborghini Classic.

Update on the countach, i've since decide to add the body upgrades to take it from a lp400 to a early lp400s and 5000QV
