Subaru Legacy 2004 3.0R

Hi there !

Here is my final rendered of Subaru Legacy 3.0R 2004 year model. Image is little "heavy" so 56K guys be patinet (I'm also on 56K) but i didn't wanted to compress it much 'coz i added many small detials what will be unvisible if i compress image too hard .

I'm still rendering some studio shots but i'm pretty happy with this compostion. And yeh background image is als my work .

Any comments are welcome.

P.S.
If anyone is interested there is 1600*1200 verison on my WEB page (nice for desktop for Subaru fans ).

Wow Lewis the car looks great, I can still remember the Maserati you did a while back, this one is nothing short of amazing. Its strange but when you tell someone a car is a render something in your head looks for the faults. It makes one wonder if you just placed this at say..., Automotiveforums subaru section if anyone could figure it out.

I cant believe I'm going to give some critisism hehe but hopefully I'm right on. What ruins it for me is...

The door handles look like they need more shadowning under the handles.

I hate to say something looks to perfect but the headlights look like they could use some err whats the word.... opaque? They seem to clear.

The wheels is another area I'm curious about, I guess it all depends on lighting but they just seem so bright. And I might go darker under the car.

Well thats really all I can say. I hope you dont mind my constructive criticism, the car looks great , better than I could ever do. Please keep us updated

Wonderful !

incredible detailing ! I really like the rims and tyres material wise ... I always struggle with my tyre materials ...

Are the tyres lit separately to get that soft speccular rubber-highlight ?

windows seem a bit dark though, for a outside shot ?

Im thrilled to see such a nice car and composition

Great work Lewis !

Thanks guys you are very kind

All coments are nice and constructive but as Icekid84 said it's coomon thing among us (3D guys) that when you Know something isn't real you always fins something what can be different or not right in your eyes but in reality sometime it's same as in 3D no matter how looked wrong .

Look at my RESOURCE image of rims - anyone care to say why they are too bright also ???

I just tryed to mimic real thing on bright day . On studio shoots they aren's so bright but on suny day almost completly white.

cheers and thanks for nice words one more time and constructive criticism is always good. I promise i'll post more frequent on these forms 'coz i did found some nice blueprints here (like my Viper RT/10 model).

Great work Lewis !
Ohh i forgot to answer you

Tyres are rendered/lit in same pass as all parts but i did render image in PSD with exporting 20 different passes so i can control all parts separately if needed. Rubber have few layers besid enormal grey/black color. they are 40% specular, 20% gloss and i have dirt maps + tiny bump maps to make them look dirty and irregular like normal car tyres . Even tyre treads are randomized and not equal size liek on real car tyres (look at real tyres and youll see that treads are comletly out of simetry in size and there is ofthen very small ones and very big ones near each other).

I was dealing with this render for few hours untill i was happy to show it no matter how i knewed that somene would like/unlike i did my best to mimic my resurce images (100 MB from real car in very big resolution) and it looks lik i managed to mimic dark blue color of real car but 3D is tricky and anyone can have it's own vision/opinion .

Well, then you did an awesome job
I'm looking forward to see a nice movie of this one too
I'm getting bored of watching that Maserati movie every day for about 2 months now

hock: Beautiful, that's all I can say. The only thing that I can see wrong is that it looks like the front of the car is against a back drop. Other than that, perfect.

Behold! The laziest man on earth!
