Ok first a test render with a little more enviroment. It's an old scene from dosch out of my goodies folder. I like it a lot but he you're the pros so point out some weak spots.

Ok, render crits:
-Rubber is way too dark, give that some blurry white highlights with grain in it.
-You need strong(er) key light, looks like just GI now.
-Are you using falloffs ? Your reflective materials look a bit too standard/fake CG, don't know how you would go fix this in C4D, but good falloff settings will probably do a lot.
-Camera angle is a bit boring

hey, looks nice man, glad to see another c4d user.

About the fall offs Xoliul is taking about, he means have you got the reflection set to fresnel? if not you probably should do as the materials will benefit from it

Any c4d questions add em on msn and ill help ya out.

keep up the good work

@xoliul the rubber mat is giving me a hard time. ist's working good in the standard renderings but looking way to dark in the GI setup.
key light will be done for the next rendering.
falloffs are possible in C4d like in any good package. I will work on this. right now my knowledge of falloff settings is a bit weak. i will read some stuff on this.
Camera angle: sorry. it is boring, you're right. i need a cool idea first.

@99GsTurbo So welcome to this little bike thread.

So right now modeling is on hold. I just got a job in on modeling a truck. Forgive me if this bike thread will take some time to finish.

You'll probably need the key light to get highlights on the rubber.
And for the falloffs, you don't have to use just fresnell type, I combine perpendicular and fresnell together in two layers (blend material with a blurrier reflecting base layer and a high gloss clearcoat layer).
Camera angle; a low stance always works, here's one i took from my bike for example, an old 25 year old thing that isn't all that impressive: http://users.pandora.be/b_corijn/CB400/Honda_CB400N.jpg

Yeah I have to agree, the S model looks great, even if it is missing some pieces, the orange is great on that bike for sure!

So here is a new shot. Camera angle still boring but i need to see what i'm doing. I will change that later, Corrected some smaller details. The turn signals got way to bright so i changed them to the smokey glases the got on the 2007 model. tried some carbon fiber pieces 'cause the bike i'm getting next year (hopefully) will have a lot of them (with some areas painted).

What needs to be done?
Still some cables.
Some more changes on the tire mat (gettin' there)
rear footpegs (maybe? don't know yet if i will model them)

Anyway new image with some improved lighting and mat

not too familiar with motor cycles but this one is a nice model i really like it and i really like the carbon fiber effect. But just make sure your renders aren't too bright in some areas for example the wall in your last render.
nice one

@300ZX_9 yep sorry i played with the setting for the tire material. and the best effect for the tire left the background in some white glow. I will work on this. Right now i think there will be time to adress this issue in post after i'm finished and satisfied with all the other materials. The carbon fiber was fun to do. Cost some time to work it out nice but i like it right now. Checked some carbon fiber parts by Ilmberger. They do the whole line of parts for the Buell XB models
