came with a 24inch screen and a few extras plus a full 3 year warranty (even if its my fault it breaks)

im only 15 and my dad didnt want me to make my own

and they arent that overpriced in aus. i would have saved about 700 if i built it myself but i like the warranty ;p

also i loved the case

What specs are you running your xps? is it the 8800gts? because the XPS is still expensive in AUS, compared to custom building. Good luck with it,

origionally my dad thought it would be a salary sacrifice cos we got it through his work. plus the guys at his work said it was ok. but turns out the tax man wasn't too happy about it and didnt let it through

i bought it before the 8800gts came with it so it has the 7900gtx

Nice model Mertz!! I'm saving up for one of those beauties myself.

The only problem with buidling a custom computer is a lot of other costs are not taken into consideration. People just look at the cost of the computer itself, they don't think about the time and labor involved in building and maintaining a computer.

If you love building computers and have a thorough knowledge of how they work, then I can totally understand how it would be cheaper to build. But heck I'm with you Mertz, the warranty alone makes it morth the purchase.
