" stop modeling " oh f off man (not directed towards you) , that is really crap. I will find something hopefully to fix it. otherwise I need to make every part perfect first time round, isf not then delete it. maybe if I merge one part into another scene it might work...

try applying a default grey material to everything...also try mergeing the stuff into a new file...ive had a similar problem once, except it would crash every time you tried to remove a map from a material that was applied to an object, it was very annoying

Well ,mine was just unusable because as soon as i opened it,it would just simply crash, but try not to overload ur pc.

EDIT*

well i just figured out what was wrong with my s13,i just changed my graphics accelerator from direct3d to opengl and it works again

@Catlin, yea was fixed when I reloaded the bp's lol
@advan - try switching to OpenGL.

PS I can model now, but I have my doubts on renders, had a memory crash or two when I inserted brakes and rims into the main file. which is strange because these are my comp specs -

400GB HDD
1024MB DDR2 (dual channel) memory
Ati Radeon X700 Pro PCI Express graphics card
Intel Pentium D Processor 820 2.8Ghz

ye maybe I do, will save up for more. However, the scene hasn't got the wheels or brakes in it and the total polygons are like 160k smoothed, and I have had scenes b4 which have been up2 2 million in size, the viewports are all fine and they don't mess up when I select indivual parts to edit.
P.S. it works fine if convert it to edit poly and get rid of any other modifiers WTF

EDIT - I found a solution, I just have to model like half the model, use the smooth tool within edit poly, then have to import it into another file to use symmetry, then I can use that for posting WiP's its a pain in the arse, but its better than nothing
